Jim Ross Comments On Chris Masters, JBL, More

Jim Ross has posted a new blog over on his website at www.jrsbarbq.com. In this edition, he speaks on Chris Maters in ring performance, if JBL will ever wrestle and more. Here are a few excerpts

On Chris Masters

I think Chris Masters is showing significant improvement in his in ring work. He is only 24 years old, I believe, and one would think would have a great career ahead of him if he continues to study his craft and work hard. Are you warming up to Alabama Coach Nick Saban yet? I hope he does well, because I have great respect for the Crimson Tide and the late Bear Bryant, but Saban seems to really like himself.. a lot. I guess if he wins a National Title for the Tide that wont matter.

On JBL and Wrestling

I think JBL has plenty of matches left in him and I know he thinks that as well.

JBL plans to relaunch league in October

TOKYO (Reuters) - The Japan Basketball League will reform as a professional competition in October that would overshadow its rival fully-pro bj-League, a JBL official said on Friday.

"The bj-League is an independent entity," JBL public relations manager Takahiro Senshu told Reuters. "Our new league will be the top league in Japan."

Sunday Night Fury: WWE Backlash 07

So I settled down to watch Backlash live last night. I made it through most of the undercard but slept through the ECW title match and the Last Man Standing. Luckily I woke up in time to see the main event. Fun stuff. We're in Atlanta, Georgia. Hosts are JR, Lawler, JBL, Cole, Taz and Joey Styles. Tag titles HARDYS (c) v CADE & MURDOCH Thought you might enjoy the little chat I was having with Larry as the PPV went on the air. Here are some initial thoughts on this one; Arnie Furious: Nothing says freedom like getting away with it says: Chaps represent manliness. Larry says: or gayity Arnie Furious: Nothing says freedom like getting away with it says: Jeff Hardy is representing gayity this evening. Larry says: and every night Excellent. Normally when I watch a show without reviewing it live I'll spot something about someone that I don't like.

WWE Releases Developmental Diva

Bob Ryder of 1Wrestling.com is reporting that developmental diva Angel Williams was released by WWE last night. Williams started in OVW just last Wednesday as she wrestled in a dark match. She was a fixture in Deep South Wrestling until the promotion was closed down last month. She was really close to being called up to the main roster on two occasions. She was going to replace Jillian Hall as JBL's advisor in January 2006, but she went down with a severe injury the week before her television debut. She also had a shot at getting called up with The Gymini, but WWE officials weren't too pleased with their dark match tryouts, and they were subsequently released a few weeks later. Williams had been under a developmental contract with WWE since December 2004.

JBL Hoping To Compete, Carlito Translated, MVP

JBL politicked to return to the ring despite all of his injuries. However, Vince McMahon nixed it by saying he wanted a full medical release, but others believe it's because he's becoming such a fixture on the broadcasting side.

MVP is very popular backstage and is considered to be Chris Benoit's personal project. Benoit is teaching him the ropes and wants him to become a champion.

On Raw, Carlito went on a rant against Torrie Wilson in Spanish. Here's a translation: "You're a dimeadozen dirty blonde. You're not worth a cent. To me, you're nothing, understand? I hate the day that we met. I don't know why I let you into me life. I want you to get out of here. I want you to go to hell, you understand? You're not worth a cent, you understand? Dumb blonde. (Torrie slaps him and leaves the ring.) Leave then.
